　　Waste sorting is not a popular convention inour country, though it should be. Garbage bins filled with all sorts of recyclable and non—recyclablewastes mixed together are seen everywhere. Peoplestill haven’ t formed the habit of sorting wastes.

　　The neglect of waste sorting will bring about aseries of problems. First of all, it causes a mass ofwaste of resources that could have been recycled or reused. Secondly, the growing amount ofmixed rubbish will take up a lot of space in the landfill site, which will worsen the land shortageproblem. Last but not least, it will increase the cost of waste treatment.
