　　The US started its COVID-19 vaccine rollout nationwide on Monday as the death toll of the pandemic in the country topped 300,000.

　　12月14日，美国开始在全国范围内接种新冠疫苗。美国因新冠大流行造成的死亡人数已超过30万。

　　Shortly before 9:30 am local time, Sandra Lindsay, an ICU nurse at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens, New York, was among the first people in the country to get the vaccine of American drugmaker Pfizer in partnership with German company BioNTech.

　　12月14日上午9时30分许，纽约皇后区长岛犹太医疗中心重症监护室护士桑德拉•琳赛最先接种疫苗，成为全美首批新冠疫苗接种者之一。这些新冠疫苗由美国辉瑞制药有限公司与德国生物新技术公司联合研发。

　　In a video link with New York state Governor Andrew Cuomo, Lindsay said, "I feel like healing is coming and this marks the beginning of the end of a very painful time in our history."

　　在与纽约州州长安德鲁•科莫的视频连线中，琳赛说："我觉得(一切)正在愈合，这标志着美国历史上这段非常痛苦的时期就快要结束了。"

　　"I believe this is the weapon that will end the war," Cuomo said Monday morning.

　　当天早晨，科莫表示："我相信这是结束抗疫之战的武器。"

　　The vaccine rollout came after the US Food and Drug Administration authorized the vaccine for emergency use for Americans 16 and older on Friday.

　　12月11日，美国食品和药物管理局批准了这款新冠疫苗的紧急使用授权申请，获批的新冠疫苗被允许用于16岁及以上人群，新冠疫苗接种随即启动。
