　　Yangzhou is one of the famous historical cities in China. The establishment of Yangzhou which was called Guangling at that time, can date back to 486 B.C. During the periods of the Tang and Song Dynasties, Yangzhou flourished gradually to become the economic and cultural center and the exchange site for foreign trade. After the completion of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal，business and trade in Yangzhou further developed, making Yangzhou a place of richness and prosperity. In Chinese poetry and other works of literature, Yangzhou is not only a prosperous city but also a symbol of romance.

　　1.第2句中的“时称广陵”是用来补充说明“扬州”的，可以用定语从句which was called Guangling at thattime来表达。

　　2.在第3句中，“成为了经济、文化中心以及对外贸易交换地”表结果，可将其处理成结果状语，用不定式短语 to become the economic and cultural center...来表达。

　　3.在第4句中，“扬州变成繁华富庶之地”与前一分句为因果关系，前一分句为因，该句为果，故此处可处理为结果状语，用分词短语making Yangzhou a place of...来表达，也可转译为非限制性定语从句which made Yangzhou...。
