目前在中国的网民中有80%的人经常浏览或有时浏览电子商务网站。价格相对较低的图书、音像制品、鲜花、礼品以及票务服务等是近期网上消费的主要热点。网民最常使用的网络服务是电子邮件，平均每位用户拥有2至3个账号。除此之外，人们越来越多地上网听音乐、看电影。而网民最反感的问题是网络病毒、弹出式(pop.up)广告和网络入侵。
