　　Nowadays, for some people who like animals, pets are of particular importance to their life. Most people keep pets for emotional rather than economic reasons. For example, for residents who live the isolated apartments in modern cities, a pet is kept as a companion that makes them feel happy. It's suggested that pets can help people reduce loneliness.

　　Besides providing mere companionship, pets invite us to love and be loved. Animals can communicate with us in their particular way. Often a cat or a dog can comfort us at times when human words don't help.
